question on edge machines

can edge machines do any profile (i.e. 3&4cm ogee, 3&4cm bullnose, ogee w/roundover, different depth ogees triple pencils?)

I remember reading somewhere that edge machines dont use diamond router-type bits (which is good) but I am thinking that will somewhat limit the types of profiles available (with the resin pads i think?)

am i close or way off?
